Eastman Cooke completed a project with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), ranked #1 in the nation for orthopedic care. Our firm was proud to be chosen to build HSS’ new state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgical Center in Manhattan, expanding the hospital’s reach in the New York community.
Working side-by-side with Perkins Eastman and Owner’s Rep SMC, Eastman Cooke converted a 22,000 square foot space (once occupied by the Grace Institute) into a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical facility. The extensive project entailed building four operating rooms, 16 recovery rooms, three nurse’s stations, as well as decontamination and sterilization rooms containing some of the most advanced equipment in the healthcare industry. A high-tech medical gas system was also installed for use in the facility’s operating suite and Post-Anesthesia Care Units.
